For what it is worth, my own opinion (as a staunch critic of the Sarkozy candidate), I am extremely relieved of seeing that the President Sarkozy is much more centrist than the candidate. He did not do as much big bad reforms than I expected. He now seems to make consensual small bad Chirac-style "reformettes". Not good, but this mediocrity is much better than my worst nightmares. I expect most centrists and leftists people have more or less the same opinion : Not as bad as expected, so let's be optimistic with this good surprise. Wait and see...
